5 Apps you should never remove from your Android phone
I had a Blu Studio 5.3 recently, because of the size I never used it as a phone, however it served as a mini tablet. The main issue I had with is was low internal memory. For what ever reason developers require a significant amount of data to be stored in your internal memory and if your device has only 512mb or so then that runs out very quickly. If it isn't being used as a phone then it doesn't need certain apps right? Well I was wrong!
My assumption was if I remove apps that are stored to the rom this would free up space for apps I actually want to use. If you are reading this article then you should already know how to root as well as how to use titanium backup or similar software. I'm going to list some of the apps I removed which are critical.
1. The phone app.
Even tho this app is used for making phone calls I noticed it was also tied to the Wi-Fi functions. While Wi-Fi still works, it isn't able to register automatically on a network.
2. The default home screen.
Your device attempts to load this before any other home screen you may have installed. Let's say Go Launcher came pre installed, the device will attempt to boot this from the internal memory, if it isn't there you won't be able to access any of your other apps.
3. The status bar.
There are so many replacements for this I figured I would be able to just download one. There are IOS and windows phone replacements, however if those companies saw the need to copy android with this particular feature then trust me when I say do not remove it! The best way to check notifications is via the notification shade...
4. The default keyboard.
Yes this is one of the most replaced apps, but it's required to be able to have the replacements function. The inconvenience in having to reinstall this isn't worth the few kbs you gain.
5. Google play.
There are replacements for Google play such as 1mobile or Amazon, however Google play has a wider selection than replacement stores. If apps are important to you then do not replace this!
I removed other apps such as contacts, Facebook, what's app and so many other junk that came with the device but these are easily replaced.
What to do if you remove crucial apps from your android device?
