Winchester donates fete $$ to flood victims!

Shurwayne Winchester is among several local artistes who’ve lent a hand to victims of flooding in the Diego Martin area of West Trinidad. Winchester, in a chat with us yesterday said it was an overwhelming experience, this as he saw victims salvaging whatever household items they could and attempting to bring their lives back to a level of normalcy.

On Sunday night, Shurwayne will host an event at Coco Lounge along Ariapita Avenue in Woodbrook. According to the artiste, the dynamic of the event remains the same- it originally having been a video release party for his single, Bikini. The event is called MORE and starts at 9pm however following the natural disaster that struck Diego Martin and environs last weekend, Winchester has decided to donate proceeds from the event to disaster relief for these victims. “ Part proceeds from this will be going to the flood victims. We are also encouraging people to walk with canned food to donate to the victims. I have been to the area and all I can say is they really need the country’s help right now. I’m ready to do what I can,” said the former Groovy Soca Monarch, Power Soca Monarch and Road March champion.

With a public holiday in T&T on Monday ( Eid-Ul-Fitr), the nighttime energy in the city is likely to be high. MORE will see ladies receiving free drinks from 11pm to midnight and there will be free shots on entry for all guests in attendance. Persons who get listed will pay only $80 while unlisted guests will pay $100. To get listed persons can call, 781-8877.

Among the cast of DJ’s and radio personalities carded to be at the event are, Mr. Smooth, Mike Jones, Trevlyn The Voice and Dangerous Robin.
