Never Stop- Tobago's Finest Keep the Faith, Teaming Up For Remixed Single
There’s no mistaking the passion that’s felt for music among some of Tobago’s striving vocalists. K Kay for one, isn’t giving up on his dream of getting to the top- gaining the recognition he feels he deserves at home in the Caribbean before being embraced in overseas markets. Together with Fya Empress, Angel Journie, Flipo, Tim Starr and Fridge of H2OFlo, K Kay has unleashed the remix to his single, ‘Wine Up On Me’- a groovy soca track aimed at getting the masses ready for the T&T Carnival season to come.
With numerous band launches having already taken place in Trinidad in the past few weeks, the newly remixed single is likely making its presence felt at the right time. A combination of vocalists that to some, may seem a bit odd, has meshed quite well, according to KKay, to create something that’s different but sweet on the ear. The single was originally released in December 2012 and much like he’s doing this time around, K Kay worked hard on marketing and promoting the District 6 Studio produced track also utilizing the online distribution company, Jam2Vibes.com to ensure that the song was delivered to DJs and radio headmen around the world. He hasn’t held back with the distribution of the remixed version either. “Every DJ in Trinidad and Tobago should have this track. We’re just hoping they’ll give it some consideration and show a little love for the home grown music,” said the young artiste.
The original version of the song saw a variation of fused musical genres inclusive of dancehall and soca. Now, with no holds barred, KKay has undoubtedly welcomed some hip-hop flavour to the mix. Tim Starr is known in T&T for his awesome ability when it comes to his rhyming verses and artistes like Fya Empress and Fridge have always shown their vocal strength- Fridge having made a name for himself as an incredible vocalist with the H2OPhlo group. YoungFlipo is enthusiastic about music, having collaborated with fellow entertainers Umi Marcano and Phreddi Cooga on a single called ‘Stackin Up’ a few months ago.
The team is ready for whatever’s set to come their way. K Kay meanwhile, continues to prove that he has a fighting spirit that won’t be deterred by anything. The remix of ‘Wine Up On Me’ is just a taste of what’s yet to come as each of the acts featured continues on their journey to musical success.:
