Vitaminwater: Not as Healthy as You Think?

From its name, you may think Vitaminwater contains, well, vitamins. While the drinks packs modest doses of nutrients, like vitamins A, B, and E, it also contains 33 g of sugar in each 20-ounce bottle. Not what you’d think from all the health buzzwords and ads around the product. Well, public interest group Center for Science in the Public Interest had a problem with it and filed a lawsuit against Coca-Cola, parent company of Vitaminwater, for making false health claims.  In court, Coca-Cola claims no consumer could reasonably be misled into thinking Vitaminwater is a healthy beverage. This twisted logic caught the attention of comedian Stephen Colbert. Here’s his funny take on the lawsuit from last night’s episode of The Colbert Report.
