Several factors may have a negative impact on your future children’s behavior. A study undertaken by scientists from Netherlands and Canada finds a relationship between the aggressive behaviour of children and risk factors concerning mothers, like dropping out of school, using drugs, having criminal record or low income.

The results are significant – if there are risk factors involving drugs and crimes for mothers who smoke, 67% of children become aggressive. When the mother does not smoke, only 16% of children show aggressive behavior further in their development.
The results among families with low incomes were once again in favour of non-smoking mothers. In low-income families 25% of children are aggressive, if mothers are non-smokers. If the mother smokes, the index rose to 40%. So smoking among mothers is the key factor, which accelerates the effect of all others risk factors.
