An abandoned pile of pure gold bars and a stash of cash, stored in a luggage storage locker at the main train station in Cologne, Germany has baffled the local police.

Even though the German police have issued a notice, in which they have asked the legitimate owner of the precious package to contact them, no one has stepped forward yet. The small treasure was found abandoned back in April 2013 and so far nobody has claimed the ownership of the gold and the money.
The authorities have been trying to link the abandoned precious baggage with possible robberies or other crimes, but with no luck so far.
This unusual find may remain a mystery because soon after the legal term to find the owner of the gold bars and money is up, the police will have no choice but to sell the abandoned valuables.
