In reality, lacing up those corsets and adjusting the cups, straps, and snaps isn’t always so easy (especially if you might have indulged in a glass of Champagne before busting out your lacy underthings.) Jasmine Ines, a corset designer for Sin and Satin Custom Corsetry and Arielle Shapiro, designer and owner of Ari Dein lingerie, have saucy tips on how to foolproof your relationship with your lingerie.

"Taking off a corset is just as tricky as putting one on correctly," explains Ines. "You want to be very careful not to unbuckle the steel busk (the rigid element of the corset at the front of it) without unlacing yourself fully first. You could break your busk if you try to unhook it while it's laced tight."
