Want To See Marilyn Monroe LIVE In Concert? Icon Being Resurrected Via Hologram For Tribute Show!

It was only a matter of time!

With the overwhelming success of the deceased Tupac Shakur appearing on-stage at Coachella this year in hologram form to perform alongside Dr. Dre, developers of the technology have been hard at work pushing the limits even further - in an attempt to ca$h in on the public's desire for resurrected music legends!

And guess who's coming next?

We'll give you a hint - Lindsay Lohan is going to shiz her pants!

That's right, Digicon Media is reportedly hard at work planning a "live" Marilyn Monroe concert, called Virtual Marilyn Live -- A Musical Celebration of the Birth of the Pop Icon, to take place this year, and feature live musicians performing alongside a hologram of the bombshell!

And that's not all! According to managing director and co-founder Becky Altringer, this is only the jumping off point, as they hope to use virtual Marilyn as "a performer, spokesperson, cultural pundit and computer avatar."

Justin Wilkes, executive vp media and entertainment at @radical, explains:

"There is a genuine feeling that this is cool and this is the future. Audiences are craving the experiential, and if you can give them an immersive experience and take them through a story, the possibilities become incredibly exciting. Imagine what happens when James Cameron and Martin Scorsese come on board."

But what about the legality behind using the likeness of a celebrity for profit, when the rights to their image is controlled by other parties?

Altringer counters:

"We will probably end up cooperating with them, but only when they come to us. We aren't in a rush to deal with them because they [own] only marketing rights to old photos for merchandise. We will have our own rights for the living virtual Marilyn, who is the pop icon today."

Good lord. This is quickly becoming a real-life version of that Al Pacino movie S1m0ne - only everyone is in on the illusion!

But we can't help but wonder if the public will ultimately want to spend money on just that: an illusion?

We suppose time will tell!

What do U think?? Are U interested in the new direction of hologram technology??
