All Fun and Games-the games night in the day.
We've all may have planned or been to a Games Night before. My Team Events took that ever so familiar experience and created an event that was unique, nostalgic, fun and exciting. The themed team event planning company hosted All Fun and Games dubbed the "Games Night in the Day" on Sunday 29th July 2012 at the Woodbrook Youth Facility.
The tournament saw teams of 5 players compete in 14 different games; they included the card games Uno, Romey and All Fours, nostalgic games such as Snakes and Ladders, Ludo, Boy Girl Animal Place Thing TV Show and Twister. The strategy games Checkers, Monopoly and Scrabble, video games including Wii Sports and Just Dance 3 also for the Nintendo Wii as well as the team games Taboo and Guesstures (charades).
The participating teams had nothing short of a great time, but with a winner take all cash prize, trophies, medals and other prizes in the balance, the tournament was competitive from start to finish. Each team selected their best player to participate in each of the games, for which the overall winner also received medals. With a scoring system similar to that of a sports day every point counted. The top four teams were eventually The TYC Champions from the Trinidad Youth Council in fourth place the Fanatic Gamers from the St. James Police Youth Club coming in third, the team 5hungeeze was second and the overall winners were D Team Next to us is cheating. There were also prizes for best dressed team which was won by the boys in pink from the Fanatic Gamers and the best team name prize which 5hungeeze won.
Jerrold, the team captain of 5hungeeze said the event was a true success. "From Twister to All Fours, to Checkers and epic games like Snakes and Ladders they had it all! Our team truly had a fun, amazing and competitive experience. No way are we missing the next one, which I'm sure will be bigger and better!"
From a spectators point of view the event was described as a "great idea" by Keisha. She went onto say that it was "a simple but effective event and each team that participated did a great job". The company's events are designed to create a setting for the forming of new relationships and friendships.
"Another set of great, lasting memories made" said Kenyon Champion the owner and coordinator of My Team Events. "The satisfaction of our event patrons is most important and the post event feedback has been brilliant!"
All Fun and Games was sponsored by Yellar Direct, Movietowne, Dixee Crackers, Holiday Snacks, Lucozade, Busta, Oasis Cran-water, Trinidad Freshh Juices, Mario's Pizza and Flavourite ice cream.
