Jamelody gets high on his music.
 

Soca artiste Shivonne "Lil Bits" Churche and Ceon Isaac of Ceon Isaac Promotions have created a forum to appease the appetites of jazz and poetry lovers alike. The duo launched Music is Life on April 18 at Woodford Café, MovieTowne in Port-of-Spain, which, according to Isaac is "an avenue for voices to be heard and for the lovers of jazz to experience what we are putting forward." On April 25, son of veteran saxophonist Francis Prime, Joash Prime, gave a fine account of himself. With his soprano saxophone in hand, the younger Prime seemed to have those in attendance mesmerised with his renditions of She's Royal, Before I Leave, Lost without You and Forever in Love.Other performers included the jazz band Clifford Charles Quintet, poet Keagan Maharaj and reggae singer Michael "Jamelody" Williams. Accompanied by guitarist Varnette Romany, Williams did justice to Stevie Wonder's Ribbon in the Sky. The show was hosted by Lil Bits and Tamika Ward-Lewis.
