Rap and pop culture critics have been putting bets on if Trinidadian-born rap phenom, Nicki Minaj, will do well with her second album or suffer from the sophomore jinx.

Well, the first week sales of Nicki Minaj‘s new LP Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded were published by Hits Daily Double and no, she did not do well….

She did GREAT!

Chart position: #1

Total US Sales: 251, 551

Though some critics expected her to sell more after her ridiculously expansive campaigns, it is still a great look for the first week…in the US.

Nicki’s debut album, Pink Friday did sell almost 100,000 more, but this could be because of the “black friday” holiday sales push.

Anyhoo, the rap diva holds the #1 spot in the UK, #5 spot in New Zealand and now #1 in the US. These rankings predicts that Minaj will most likely top the United World Charts by Thursday.
