Lionel Richie Steals Billboard Top Spot From Adele
It's been 26 years but Lionel Richie is back on top!
Just when it looked like Adele's 21 would have leapfrogged Nicki Minaj's Roman Reloaded, Richie's Tuskegee snuck in as the top album on the Billboard 200.
Tuskegee sold 129,000 units this week, thanks largely to his CBS special, ACM Presents: Lionel Richie & Friends in Concert.
7.7 million viewers tuned into the show, a day after the ACM awards. Adele still held strong with +90K units sold, followed by Nicki's 81,000, a 68 percent decline from her debut last week.
Rounding out the top 5 was Monica's New Life debuting at number four and One Direction's Up All Night staying at five.
We'll see what happens to the music world next week!
