WASA Organisers Say No Other Fete Will Compare this Weekend

With the security and safety of all patrons their top priority as usual, organisers are getting ready for what is expected to be an incredible WASA fete experience this coming Saturday. It has been touted as a real carnival fete where the revelry and enjoyment will come second to nothing. In fact, many agree that the true essence of Carnival can only be felt at WASA fete this weekend. “ There are a number of things happening in Trinidad this weekend, but we are guaranteeing that this is where the real carnival action will happen,” said one organiser. He said it was a fact that the people of East Trinidad were known to bring with them, a ‘let loose’ kind of vibe that could be seen and felt at no other carnival fete.

The event will cater to patrons from all walks of life. “ We are promoting peace and unity. We know how things are in T&T right now but in order for us to overcome, we must confront and so we are encouraging all real Trinidad and Tobago people to fly in the face of fear and come party in true Trini fashion,” said the organiser.

With a heightened level of security, patrons attending this fete at WASA Sports Grounds in St. Joseph can essentially expect a no -nonsense approach from law enforcement officials. This in essence will prove to be a deterrent to any misbehaviour on the part of any reveler who so chooses to act in an unmannerly way. “ We want to welcome all of T&T to this spacious venue. This is the only place this weekend where we know everyone will feel that real carnival joy- that energy that has been missing. We want tourists to come see and experience it for themselves and know that everything is being put in place to keep them safe throughout the night on Saturday,” said the event official.

On the ground, the buzz is high going into the weekend as patrons have been flocking to the advertised ticket outlets to make their purchases before hand. Annually, the outskirts of the venue is known to be crowded with patrons hustling to make last minute ticket purchases, but with tickets now being sold at most Francis Fashion/ Shoe Locker outlets along with other top ticket locations, most patrons have been opting to get their tickets before hand. On another note, dancehall superstar, Beenie Man- an avid carnival patron, is already in T&T and he will perform with his Soca friends on Saturday night at WASA. Beenie Man has tried his hand at Soca on a number of occasions and this week he released a Soca track alongside T&T cricketer, Dwayne Bravo. That single is called, Badman Soca and according to both Beenie and Bravo, ‘badman’ in this sense is all about the ladies so with that said, there’s certainly a lot to expect from that angle as WASA fete 2012 comes into focus.

Safety, enjoyment and unity are the keywords for organisers this year and with those mechanisms their striving goal, patrons heading to WASA can certainly expect a really good time.
